[00:00:06] We asked the ghost or the entity, whatever was coming through to tell us something scary. It popped out, asked. Killed woman.
[00:00:27] Welcome to Tell Me A Ghost Story, the late night call-in podcast where we delve into the world of the supernatural and explore the eerie and unexplained.
[00:00:38] I'm your host, Michelle Newman. This podcast features true stories from our callers that will send shivers down your spine and leave you questioning the existence of the afterlife. So grab a cozy blanket, turn down the lights.
[00:00:58] This is Leah calling in from California. My ghost story happened maybe six years ago or so in my same apartment where I live now. My apartment's not that old, so it didn't feel like nothing about it made sense to me.
[00:01:23] I was in my bedroom. I was asleep. All of a sudden, I think around three or four in the morning, I woke up. I was completely wide awake. Wasn't sure why. I looked up. And in my bedroom, my bed and my desk chair and desk are relatively close to each other.
[00:01:43] And I felt like I saw a man sitting in my chair. He was not from this time period. He had a suit on. I feel like it was Victorian, but it could be Edwardian. And I closed my eyes. I was like, nope, please no. I'm all good. Opened my eyes again. He was still there.
[00:02:10] And then I reached my hand up and like wafted it. And I saw him like disintegrate into the air. It felt like I felt like I could see my fingers in front of my face going back and forth. And it felt like he became like atoms.
[00:02:40] And then they all just became part of the room and disappeared. So sort of like dust going back and back and forward. And then I turned on my light. She was no longer there. I turned off my light and my heart was pounding and just tried to go back to sleep. And eventually I did.
[00:03:03] Thank you, Leah. Sometimes a ghost is connected to the land instead of the building. Other times that ghost could be connected to you. Take a peek at your family photo albums next time you're home and report back. He might be some long lost ancestor popping in to say hello. Hi, Michelle. This is Beth. This happened in rural Kentucky early to mid 80s when I was in high school.
[00:03:33] A friend of mine's uncle, his name was Doug, was he was like the town drunk and in rural Kentucky, like near hazard Kentucky. And he was like horrible. He was a thief, womanizer, didn't have any kids, you name it, horrible. So he decided to be saved. He wanted to be baptized.
[00:03:59] And at that particular church, her church wasn't my church and I wasn't there. They would do it in they would do the baptism in a creek and the creek was like pretty big. It was actually a small river. And the whole congregation was there. So part of the congregation was on one side and they it was such a momentous occasion that they actually hired someone to take photos. But, you know, everybody was poured back in.
[00:04:25] So the pictures that they use or the camera that they use was one of those instant photo things. And she brought the pictures in to show us. She said they were pretty interesting with I cheered with her. So she brought these pictures in. Her name was Amy to show me these pictures. And I saw them myself. And keep in mind, this is in the early 80s before Photoshop.
[00:04:50] And you see like 15, 20 people on the far bank. And then in between the cameraman and whoever's taking the photos and the congregation was Doug being baptized with two creatures. And you see him and he's there. There's one photo. And then there's another photo where he's being he's going backwards.
[00:05:16] And you see this really tall person who is a good foot and a half above everyone else. In like back to over probably from on the left hand side. And then he goes under the water. And then you see the person and he's moved. He's like back towards the back row.
[00:05:41] And then you see Doug come up and you see the preacher with his hand on his head. And then the guy, whoever this was, he had really long hair, was off to the right. And then you see him, Doug, with his head down and he's moving his hair out of his face and wiping his face. And the guy's gone.
[00:06:03] The funny thing is, no one in the congregation remembers seeing this guy. Thank you, Beth, for your story. I wonder if the tall man was part of Doug's damnation or part of his salvation. Hi, Michelle.
[00:06:30] My name is Yamar and I'm from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. My experience is with an Ouija board when I was in sixth grade. So my friends and I went to get a sleepover. It's like the most cliche story ever. We made a homemade Ouija board. We did it for 30 to 40 minutes without anything happening. Like we made our own Ouija board. We cleansed our own stuff.
[00:07:00] Nothing was happening. So we did everything we weren't supposed to do. Ask questions about when we're going to die. Ask questions about, you know, like can something satanic come through? So before, like I get deeper into the conversation, we, my friends and I completely blocked off ducks. We put a lot of candles.
[00:07:25] So there was no way that air movement could happen when we were doing this, unless someone would come through the door. We were doing it in the basement. So one way in, one way out. When we were doing stuff, we asked for it. We asked the board to do something. And every time we asked for something to show itself, a candle, mind you, just a regular candle from Dollar Tree was flickering. So maybe a coincidence, maybe not.
[00:07:54] But with every question we asked for something to show itself, that would happen. So we would mock the board. We would say like nothing going on until we asked like the ghost or the entity, whatever was coming through to tell us something scary. It popped out. Killed woman.
[00:08:21] And we were like, we were all like, oh, so what is that? After we asked it, how? Like we asked, how did it feel to do that? If it's true. Well, after we asked that question, all the candles that we had lit around us turned off. And we were crying. We were freaking out. So we turned on the light.
[00:08:46] And then when we turned on the light, my friends and I, it was like a finished basement in the corner above our fireplace that was not turned on. I promise you that there was like a figure of a shadow man holding something above his head. Like it wasn't super clear, but it was dark enough to know that something was holding something above its head.
[00:09:12] And my friends and I completely freaked out. We turned on the TV. We put on the radio. And we all fell asleep in the corner. I told my mom, my mom's a very religious Catholic woman. And when I told her that that happened, my mom was very upset because she's a very religious Catholic woman. And that was one thing she stated that she wished I would never do.
[00:09:43] So after my mother had like to talk with us, like me and my friends, so just two of my other friends, like how that's wrong and how we need to be careful. My friends and I obviously felt bad. And we were still scared about what we saw. I never told my mother about what I saw. But she was very upset that we did all of that. Mind you, we made her a leaky board with like cardboard and we wrote it out ourselves. And we used a little glass, wine glass for the pentacle. I think that's how you call it.
[00:10:13] So after my mom had to talk with us in the morning after making us breakfast, my friends and I got like really scared. So we ripped up the board. And I lived in a community where they have like a lake running through the community. So we threw it and like we threw the Uiji board after we ripped it up in the dam after we were done eating breakfast. So we were fine with that. Yeah, we, you know, we went, it was regular school day.
[00:10:39] Monday or Tuesday, because this was on the weekends, so my friends went home on a Sunday. Monday or Tuesday, I go back down to the dam just to see like if the Uiji, because it was made out of cardboard, was like gone. But when I, there was like picnic tables on the side of like the dam that we were at. The Uiji board was put back together. That really scared me, whether it was a prank or not. But we threw like a rock on it.
[00:11:05] We like threw it away in pieces and it got back in a full piece. Like they, like a puzzle piece. So I told my friends that and both my friends said that they like had throughout the week after I told them that. They kept coming to me, telling me like they kept having nightmares. It wasn't about anything specific, but they were like getting anxiety when they would go to sleep and stuff. So my mom told my uncle and my uncle, you know, cleansed the whole house.
[00:11:35] So that's honestly it with the Uiji story. But growing up, I didn't have anything. Like I was probably like, what, 14 or 15? Might be wrong about my age, but like growing up, I still lived with my mom until I was like 25 and I got pregnant. And my mom says that whenever I would like fall asleep in the living room or when she would come in and see me,
[00:11:59] that she would always see like a shadow follow me, especially when I was pregnant. I've never seen it before, but my mom could say like, you know, it would scare her and she would cleanse me and all that stuff. Thank you for your story, Yamari. I still remember when my friend brought a Uiji board on our group vacation a few years ago. She thought I was going to be into it because I'm into the paranormal.
[00:12:28] I, on the other hand, insisted we do a jigsaw puzzle instead. Hi, I'm Nikki. I'm from Cleveland, Ohio. And I have a ghost story. When I was a little girl, I saw a ghost. And I told my mom about it. My mom didn't believe me.
[00:12:52] You know, I saw some male sitting on the table from the previous owner. And also, the male was stating that the previous owner was in a nursing home. And his name was Oscar. And, you know, one day I thought that I saw a huge dark figure while I was sitting at the table. And I ran into my mom about it. And she said, oh, he didn't see anything.
[00:13:22] But, so funny because later on that week, I heard her talking on the phone saying that she was so scared to turn around. Because she knew that something was behind her. So fast forward years later. I've always thought about that. And it wasn't until I was an adult. And I had just got into an argument with my fiance about something stupid.
[00:13:52] He slammed the door. So I thought that he left the house. So I had my headphones on. I was upset. And I was washing dishes that night. And I felt like something was behind me. I felt that he was behind me. And I turned around. And it was not my husband. Or my Bianca at the time. But it was a tall, dark black figure. And the way that it looked at me. Now, it was a dark blob.
[00:14:23] So I didn't know that it was a person or anything like that. It was just a tall black mask. I felt like it was a him. And he was surprised that I saw him. And the communication that I got from it was, oh, my God. You can see me. I'm like, yes, I can totally see you. And he flew into the wall.
[00:14:52] What I saw was a big, tall black mask. And it was a ghost. So my fiance was like, what's wrong? And I could not speak. And, you know, I am a big paranormal fan. And I listen to these paranormal stories. And I hear this saying all the time about how, like, yeah, the hairs on the back of my neck was, like, big stood up. And it was so prickly. It is true.
[00:15:23] The feeling that I felt on the back of my neck. The prickly, crawly, icky feeling. I never want to experience that again. I had to sit down. And I sat on the floor for a little bit. And I told him, I said, you have to give me a minute. I'm not scared. But I just saw a ghost. Thank you, Nikki. Goosebumps are a fascinating phenomenon.
[00:15:50] They are also known as goose pimples, turkey bumps, or duck bumps. These bumps are caused by a contraction of miniature muscles that are attached to each hair to literally make your hair stand on end. This could happen when you feel cold, naturally, hear a beautiful piece of music, or feel threatened. Next message.
[00:16:20] Hi, I'm Michelle. It's me again, Mark Pins. And I want to talk about someone who constantly visited me, made herself known. And she stopped. I hope she stopped. She already made her point. That's why she visited me. And this someone is my late sister, Patricia. So she was born in 1994.
[00:16:49] It was born in 1993. My mom, unfortunately, lost her because she contracted a chickenpox, fortunately. That's the reason why we lost her. So this experience was significant to me. Because it solidified or confirmed the idea that she was actually communicating with.
[00:17:16] This happened on a Sunday. And I was actually waiting for my turn to get into the shower. So I was waiting in the living room slash dining room looking into the mirror. You can definitely hear the shower, the water in the background. And I thought I heard someone call my name. My name is Mookie. I go by Mookie here.
[00:17:45] And I heard someone whisper my name. Mookie. And I couldn't confirm if I was hearing it or not because of the shower. And because it was said so softly, I didn't believe it to be my name. So I said to myself in my head, say it again.
[00:18:15] So we did it again. Okay. I was like, nope. Still can't hear you. Do it again. Slow my head. I did that two or three more times. And I think I got impatient or frustrated. Either way, I shouldn't have done this because it basically taunted him.
[00:18:38] So I said out loud, if you're there and if it's you, think and run next to my ear. And the water just got turned off at this point. It was silent. So silent. I felt something like walk closely next to my ear. I was still looking in the mirror so I can't see anything. Really could not see anything.
[00:19:07] I was looking at myself. I see myself. But I didn't see anything walk towards me. But I felt it. And it said my name. Mookie. Clear as day. I felt it. So I ran to my mom's room. And she was lying to her. And I was like, model. Someone's calling her my name.
[00:19:32] And because she's had experiences like this where she would hear someone calling her. She said, tell them to go in. Tell them to leave. This is in their room. And I don't know why I thought that. But I did. I told her, what if it's Trisha? That's when she sat up. And just was shocked or confused.
[00:20:00] She was like, we forgot your sister's birthday. So she got up, lit a candle, and placed it at the front door. And we're like, okay. This is what we do. If we're unable to visit their grave, we light a candle. Place it outside the door. The front door is anywhere outside. And offer a prayer.
[00:20:29] We place it outside. Because if ever they were there to visit us, they'd know that. We're thinking of them. Thank you, Yvonne, a.k.a. Mookie, for calling in again. You have my condolences about the loss of your sister. And it's an honor to have you share her story with us. Hi, Michelle. It's Yvonne again from the Volpeens. I would like to say thank you so much for giving me a chance to share my story.
[00:21:00] And this could possibly be the last. So, here goes. This is about my late sister. Her name is Trisha. She was born in 1994 and was born in 1993. We, Flopinos, we don't... Well, nowadays we do. Before, we didn't celebrate Halloween. The most important thing that we celebrate is All Souls Day. The Day of the Dead.
[00:21:29] It's celebrated around November 1. So, I remember we went home from the cemetery. Visiting our relatives. And, um... I chose to go straight home to my parents' place. The majority of my relatives stayed at my grandma's place. Because she wanted to have dinner with the entire family. Um... We were done. So, I went back home just to... Wind down. All by myself.
[00:21:59] And I was standing in the middle of the room facing the TV. So, normally, like a normal person would... You would cross your arms in front of your... In front of you. You know? Cross your arms in front of you. I do it in my back. On my back. Anyway, um... While I was watching, I felt something flick me. Like flick of the finger. In the back of my right arm. And... I was like, That's weird.
[00:22:28] Could be just the position of my hand. And so, I adjusted a little bit. And then... Continued to watch. So... While watching... It happened again. Two or three times. In my head, I was thinking... It could just be my arm. It might be... You know? It's a weird way to do it. To cross your hands on your back. The thing is... The last time... The... That thing or whatever it was...
[00:22:58] Flicked to me. I heard it. And felt it. And it hurt. Like you actually heard it. The flick of the finger. So... I was like... Is that you, Trisha? And then it stopped. It stopped and I said, Hi! I'm here. I can't feel you. And then I just went back... To my grandparents' place. Because it was freaky. And... There have been a couple of instances. Not basically my experience.
[00:23:28] But... My mom and dad would work. And... My mom... Had help. Hired a maid to watch over us. Clean the house and watch over us as well. So... The maids that we've had... A couple of them... Would say... Or would ask me if I was home. Or... If I was... Um... If I stopped by... After class. At home. And then went out.
[00:23:57] Because every time... They said they would... Hear me or see me is... Just like a... Like maybe me... My silhouette maybe. From me walking out of the room. Or... My laughter. Because I love... I have like a really... Loud laugh. And they would always tell me... I heard you. I saw you. A glimpse of you. Fleeting glimpse. So... That was always... The comment. And...
[00:24:26] I'm not sure if I look like my sister. Hopefully I do. That would be a compliment. Because... It would say she was pretty. So... Anyway... The very last experience I've ever had... Was a dream. So... Usually my family... My extended family... My grandparents... My aunties... My uncles... Whenever we would... Get together... Would be during holidays... Or summer... Or just as long as the kids... Including me when I was younger... Um... Wouldn't have school.
[00:24:57] So... Or some break. Semestral break. So... We would... Rent out... A house... As a built-in pool... And... We would... Enjoy our summer. Or holiday together. The scenario in my dream was... I was... Getting out of the pool... And... By the time I was looking at...
[00:25:27] The... Location... Or... Just looked right in front of me... Everybody in the background... Was just like rushing... Screaming... Crying... And panicking... And... In my head I'm like... What's happening? But... Um... I couldn't approach... The... The adults... Because... They were doing what they had to... I'm not really sure what was happening... But I could see... My cousins all lined up... From... The youngest... To the eldest... And... Somewhere...
[00:25:56] Down the line... Is... Is... My sister... Trisha... So... I saw her there... But... Her face was blurred... But I knew it was her... Because she was the only one that... I didn't know who... It was... Well... Actually I knew it... It was her... But... Yeah... I could see everyone else's face... Just hers... I couldn't see... So... I've asked every... Single cousin of mine... What was happening... And then... They were just panicking... Crying...
[00:26:26] And then I got to my sister... And I was like... What's happening? And she was like... Look behind you... Behind you... And I did... When I looked behind me... I saw... A dead body... And the dead body was me... Right next to the pool... So that was when... I woke up... Freaking out... And... Checked the calendar... It was... July... The month... When we lost her... My mom lost her... So... That was like...
[00:26:56] Basically... Everything just... Making sense... Like... She does it... To remind... Me of her... So I never... Took it against her... But she hasn't been doing it... Because... I've been like... Setting up... Reminders that... July... I have to remember her... They'll light a candle... Offer prayer... So... That's it... Again... Thank you so much... Michelle... And... Have a good one...
