Be Afraid Of Our Babysitter

Prepare yourself for a haunting account from David, who takes us back to his childhood in Connecticut, where he encountered a mysterious babysitter who left an indelible mark on his life. David’s unsettling experiences are not just figments of his imagination; they are true ghost stories that will make you question what lies beyond our reality. He recounts an early brush with death that opened the door to visions of a woman watching over him, a spectral guardian or perhaps something more sinister? As he unravels the memories of this enigmatic babysitter, the tension builds, revealing a narrative filled with fear and confusion. What was her true purpose? Why did she seem to linger like a shadow, causing distress to David and his siblings? These questions will haunt you long after the episode ends. 📞 Want your story featured? [00:00:02] Welcome to Tell Me A Ghost Story, the late night call in podcast where we delve into the world of the supernatural and explore the eerie and unexplained. I'm your host Michelle Newman. This podcast features true stories from our callers that will send shivers down your spine

[00:00:34] and leave you questioning the existence of the afterlife. So grab a cozy blanket, turn down the lights. This is David in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but I grew up in Connecticut where I grew up in a house that was just not right.

[00:00:54] And well, my earliest memory is actually having a spinal meningitis and dying in the hospital and seeing a woman standing over me and then waking up, I was about a year old.

[00:01:05] And then when I was a child, I had significantly older siblings but a sibling my own age. And the younger two would have a babysitter and the older ones would be out doing teenager things and it was never them babysitting us.

[00:01:17] And it was always the two of us. But I remember three times having a babysitter without her distinctly. I remember this was supposedly the younger sister of another babysitter we should call CG. And anyway, this woman, young woman, anyway.

[00:01:34] Let's just add needed counseling because of a couple experiences with this individual. So 30 years later, I'm trying to piece together my childhood and make sense of this nightmare. And I call my siblings and my three older siblings who went to school with CG said CG

[00:01:49] didn't have a little sister. And then my sibling, my own age, call her KL. She's like, David, we never had a babysitter alone. You were always with me. Whoever this was, I'm not telling you it didn't happen. It just didn't happen the way you remember.

[00:02:07] So fast forward, I never slept in the dark until I got married. Didn't know why. My father and grandmother also have never slept in the dark. And after I got married, I saw the person again, the babysitter in the shadows watching me sleep every so often.

[00:02:25] Sometimes closer, sometimes further. Never completely in the dark. And I was never paralyzed. It wasn't sleep paralysis. I could move, but she'd be just watching me sleep. Never told me why. Never said a word, did grab my arm once.

[00:02:38] But she would go away eventually, especially if I prayed not that I'm religious anymore. My wife never saw her, may now form her wife. Later I learned that two of my siblings have seen her watching them sleep.

[00:02:51] All I know is that since I got divorced and I'm asleep into the light on, I haven't seen her again. Who that was and what that was about? I don't know. All I know is the light you're staying on when I sleep. Thank you, David, for your story.

[00:03:08] I'm so glad I listened to this in the afternoon because it still scared me in the middle of the day. That's all we have this week, folks. Do you have a ghost story? Call 701-484-2666. Or go to tellmeagostory.com and leave your story there.
